A collection of poems and the authentic Depression Era photographs that
inspired them. All photographs were taken in the South between 1935 and
1944 and have captured the hard life that gave birth to the Blues in
poignant, still images. This pictorial record brought back many memories
of stories told by old grannies and inspired the author to retell their
narratives with poems.
